Islands Speaking: Haris Rigas

This week’s second session of “Islands Speaking” reading series, realised within the scope of Galata Greek School’s “Open School Project”, will be conducted by Haris Rigas on 22nd October Thursday, between 16.00-17.00.

”Drinking for Eros: Sympotic love songs from the ‘islands’ of Ancient Greece and Ottoman Anatolia”

Haris Rigas will read selected lyrics from Sappho, Alcaeus, Yunus Emre, Dede Efendi, and the Anonymous poet of Greek and Turkish folk songs.

Readings will be in Ancient and Modern Greek, English and Turkish
